This capital city of Bangladesh lies at the confluence of two major rivers and is home to several universities, colleges, schools, hospitals and mosques. Its lively cultural life draws millions of people from all over the country. And while its old town has seen better days, the city's well-preserved imperial architecture makes it worth a visit. As the gateway to the East Bengal region, Dhaka remains an excellent base for exploration. Dhaka has been ranked as the safest city in the world in which to live. It’s no wonder this “City of Joy” also tops the list of the best places to visit in Bangladesh. Dhaka was named after the historical region that borders it. It’s full of history but its people are some of the kindest we met during our travels. At any time of the day, you can find hundreds of people selling fruits & vegetables at the side of the street. They trade not only with locals but with visitors too.
2. Khulna
Khulna, located along the banks of river Buriganga, is the second largest city in Bangladesh. With the addition of the new industrial estates, this place is experiencing rapid urbanization. It offers visitors many tourist attractions which includes the architectural temples like Bara Uthan (Bara Island) and the famous Shitalakshya Temple. But Khulna is widely known for its traditional textiles industry and the handicraft production is still going strong here. This is the perfect place for shopping lovers who want to buy authentic Bengali products. Khulna is the second largest division in Bangladesh. If you want to experience some great sights, culture and nature, then this area would definitely fulfill your touristic desires.
3. Myanmar / Burma - Myanmar (Burma) is not only home to the world's longest river but also has some of the best cannabis varieties anywhere.
