How to be a YouTuber
1. Be yourself. I mean that literally! If you are not comfortable being your own person, then don't make videos about it. Try making videos that are more personal to you and your lifestyle. Try making videos on how you are feeling at that point in time.
2. Keep it short and sweet. Don't try to cram too much content into 1 video. People want to stay engaged with what you're posting, but they'll get bored if they have to sit through hours of footage.
3. Give value to your viewers. People aren't watching your videos to see what you eat. They may like what you eat, so give them advice on how they can cook something similar. Or even better yet, show them exactly how to do it.
4. Stay consistent. Make sure that you post at least once every week. If you are going to take a few months off, let people know. And lastly, when you upload new content, include a thumbnail. This would help viewers easily find your channel.
5. Have fun! When you enjoy what you do, others will feel it. They will notice your personality shine through.
1. Be yourself
Be sure that you have fun doing what you are doing. Don't try too hard to be someone else but rather be yourself. Don't do anything just because people expect you to or tell you to. People who watch your videos should feel comfortable watching them because they know who you are.
2. Have a voice
When starting out, make sure that you have a good microphone. If you don't then you might find that no one wants listen to what you have to say. Also, do not get discouraged if no one likes your video at first. Keep making videos and sharing them with friends and family until it starts to take off for you.
3. Make Videos that make sense
People want to be able to follow along while you are talking. Make it easy for them and create separate videos for each topic that you talk about. This makes it easier to follow what you are saying and allows you to cover many different topics without having to make multiple videos.
4. Use a good camera (or better yet, borrow one)
It's not uncommon to find people who make videos using their phone or even webcam instead of a proper camera. This is a mistake that can really hurt your channel -- if you're going to upload content, you want it to look good! If you've got decent editing software, this shouldn't be too hard to accomplish. However, if you don't have any experience editing a video, you should try to get some professional help from someone that does before you launch yourself into production. If you don't feel like spending money on a video editor, consider trying out free programs like Windows Movie Maker or iMovie for Mac. Another option would be to use a borrowed camera, but you'll need to ensure that it has HD recording capabilities.
5. Know how to edit videos
Once you've shot your footage, the real work begins. Editing involves cutting together clips and adding transitions between them. There are many different kinds of edits, including fades, dissolves, wipes, and cross-dissolves. Editing is often easier than you think; most free software allows you to cut clips without writing any code at all. However, if you're looking to create something high quality, it may require you to learn about coding. A program like Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere, or After Effects is beyond the scope of what we cover here, so we recommend trying those programs after learning the basics of editing.
6. Have a strong online presence
Your YouTube channel is just the beginning of your internet presence. Once you've created a website and social media accounts, you'll want to start promoting your content. You can do this through email marketing, social media ads, and other means. However, you'll likely want to spend most of your time creating great content in order to get viewers.
