How to be a good Student

1. Have realistic expectations

Students can go through a lot of pain and stress while studying and trying to get a degree. Be prepared for this! Don't expect to just walk into your first college class and ace all the exams. There are going to be some tests that are really hard and others where you may not even have to think at all. Some classes require a ton of reading assignments or writing practice; however, other things like biology and chemistry do not require much thinking at all. This means that if you study hard for a subject that requires less thinking then you could still fail. If you put yourself out there to try and learn everything possible, you'll definitely succeed.

2. Work smarter instead of harder

It's easy for students to overwork themselves. They might feel like they need to cram for hours, start studying early, wake up early, etc. However, if you work smarter instead of harder, you'll be able to get more done throughout the day and actually enjoy what you're doing. Instead of spending three hours studying for an exam, you could spend 10 minutes researching topics and write down notes before you sit down to study. You should never forget about taking breaks to rest, eat healthy food, drink water, exercise, relax, sleep, and play games. All these activities help keep your brain sharp and energized.

3. Practice makes perfect

This goes back to having realistic expectations. Studying too hard doesn't always mean learning. You can read books on various subjects but you won't understand them unless you put effort into practicing what you've learned. Try quizzing yourself on the information you've studied; this helps you to remember what you've learned, retain the information better, and understand the material better. Sometimes it seems silly to quiz yourself, but the act of testing yourself helps you to recall the information better. So if you're struggling with something, don't give up, take a break from studying, and come back later.

4. Be respectful (to yourself & others)

When you are learning something, you should remember that you're not always going to learn everything perfectly right away. This is especially true with cannabis cultivation. You need to respect your own skill set while allowing yourself room to experiment & learn from your mistakes. If you were taught by someone else and have been told how to do things, then you should follow their guidelines until they become outdated; but if you aren't following any instructions, then you shouldn't be afraid to make some mistakes. After all, it's only human nature to make them!

5. Be persistent

Never give up! Just because you're making a mistake doesn't mean you've failed. Keep trying and you'll eventually figure out what you're doing wrong. There's no such thing as failure when it comes to cannabis cultivation; it's just a matter of finding out where you went wrong.

6. Don't get discouraged

It may take you longer than expected to become proficient in cannabis cultivation, so don't feel bad about hitting a few bumps along the way. When faced with adversity, stay positive and don't let it discourage you. Remember that this is an entire field of knowledge and it can take years before you really understand how it operates. Stay curious and keep reading!
